Conference Talk SXSW EDU 2021
Storytelling & XR

Fostering Storytelling Using Unspoken History.

Greenwood, the thriving Black community in Tulsa, lost everything on May 31, 1921. For a hundred years the Tulsa Race Massacre went unspoken and untaught. Alongside Ashley Coffey of Xalter and Dr. Theresa Cullen of Arkansas Tech University, Mike shared the story and made the case for storytelling as a vital human skill, taught at any grade level with XR, AR, and VR, or with nothing but art and writing. Teachers left with lesson plans and strategies.
